The Progress

Week 1: This kitchen renovation began with the preparation the job site. This includes securing a duster on site, protect flooring for high traffic areas, and sectioning off other areas of the home to ensure dust isolation.

Week 2: Phase 1 of framing this kitchen renovation project has been successfully completed. The framing stage, which involved reconfiguring walls, implementing structural reinforcements, and laying the groundwork for upcoming installations.

Week 3: Phase 1 of rough installations have been completed for HVAC and plumbing. The building inspector cleared us to close the floors and allowed us to move forward with the next phase.

Week 4: This week we had our electrical team start mapping out and running their wires for the renovation. During this phase we consulted with the homeowner to ensure they are still happy with the placement of light switches.

Week 5: During Week 5, the project reached several critical milestones. The rough plumbing and electrical systems were thoroughly inspected, ensuring all components met the necessary code standards. Additionally, the second framing inspection was conducted, verifying the structural integrity and alignment of the framework. Following these inspections, insulation was installed to improve the building’s energy efficiency and comfort. This was also inspected to confirm proper installation and compliance with regulations.

Week 6: The construction project progressed with the completion of drywall installation. This phase involved attaching drywall panels to the interior walls and ceilings, creating a smooth surface ready for finishing touches. The successful completion of drywall installation marks a step forward in the project, as it transforms the skeletal structure into a more defined and enclosed space. This progress not only enhances the building’s aesthetic appeal but also sets the stage for subsequent tasks such as painting, trim work, and the installation of fixtures and fittings.

Week 7: During Week 7, the construction project made strides with the completion of several key tasks. The walls and ceilings were primed and received their first coat of paint, establishing a clean and fresh base for the final layers. Interior doors were installed, providing structure and privacy to the various rooms. Lighting fixtures were put in place, brightening the interior spaces and enhancing both functionality and ambiance. The hardwood flooring was also installed, adding warmth and elegance to the interior.

Week 8: The project continued to make notable progress with the completion of cabinetry installation and the creation of countertop templates. The cabinetry installation involved fitting custom cabinets into the designated spaces, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the kitchen and other areas. Following this, precise countertop templates were created to ensure the perfect fit for the upcoming countertop installation. These tasks are crucial steps in the interior finishing process, bringing the project closer to completion.

Week 9: Trim installation was finalized, adding the finishing touches to the interior and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The final coats of paint were applied, bringing a polished look to the walls and ceilings. The appliance installations were completed, equipping the kitchen and other areas with essential functionality. Additionally, the deck modification was finished, providing the client with use of their outdoor space for relaxation and entertainment. The siding installation was also completed, offering the building exterior protection and a cohesive appearance.

Week 10: The final electrical installation was completed, ensuring all electrical systems and fixtures were fully operational and up to code. Countertops were installed, providing durable and stylish surfaces in the kitchen and other areas. Additionally, the backsplash installation was finished, adding a decorative and functional element that enhances the overall aesthetic of the space. These achievements are key steps in the finishing process, bringing the project closer to its final completion.

Week 11: During Week 11, the project reached completion of the final plumbing installation and all required inspections. The plumbing installation was finalized, ensuring that all water and waste systems were fully functional and up to code. Following this, a series of final inspections were conducted, verifying that every aspect of the construction met the necessary standards and regulations. These critical steps bring the project to completion, ensuring everything is in place for the final handover.
