The Progress (Updated Weekly)
Week 1: The bathroom project started with us demoing the existing bathroom. While completing demo we discovered numerous code violations from the previous homeowner. The first issue discovered was the improperly secured ceiling drywall. The ceiling was secured from the drywall on the wall, when removed the ceiling fell down. The remaining issues included improper plumbing installation, lack of fire blocking, and unsecured framing components. As a result the scope increased to include installation of drywall for the ceiling, rectifying plumbing issues, and properly fire blocking for area not original foreseen. Framing and rough electric were completed to close out the week of work.
Week 2: Beginning on Monday, our plumbing began working on the rough plumbing and rectifying the previous code violations. After the plumber analyzed the amount of violations he informed us that inspections need to be scheduled for the following week. As a result, the project is now a few days behind.
Week 3: Week 3 began with the plumber finishing the remainder of his installation. After the HVAC installation, we then passed all inspections and moved forward with the insulation installation.
Week 4: Week 4 began with the installation of drywall and the subfloor. The installation went as planed and the project is beginning to fall back on schedule. Update photos below.
Week 5: This week began with the preparation of tile and ran the connection for the homeowners’ heated floor. After the preparation and connections were completed the tile team began their installation. See below for update photos.
Week 6: This week began with a snowstorm that completely halted work. When work was able to begin again, the tile team wrapped up the remainder of their installation. At the end of the week, our carpentry team started and completed their bathroom cabinetry and vinyl flooring install for the closet. As a result of losing numerous days to the snow storm, we did not meet our planned schedule for the week.
Week 7: This week our team completed all out standing work from the previous week. After the previous weeks work was completed our painters then applied the final coats of paint to the walls and trim. After the paint properly dried we then had the countertop, hardware, plumbing and lighting fixtures installed. The project is now nearly complete with only the shower door installation and final inspections left.
Week 8: The shower door has been successful been installed and the project has passed all inspections. Project is now complete.
